Federico Arocena was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology in 1993. After working for an international construction company, he founded Excel Development Group in 2002. Since then, the company has successfully completed projects in various cities in Florida and California.

Excel Development is currently focusing in revitalization projects in Downtown Melbourne. Some recent projects include restoring historical buildings such as the Flatiron and 1900 Building.
